It didn't take long - 6,000 miles - to get a ding on the windshield of our new truck. Actually, it is more than a ding as Josie noticed what appeared to be a small piece of string on the lower corner of the windshield yesterday morning as we were leaving to go to her work. The string was actually a crack that began spreading along the bottom of the windshield. By the time the day ended, the crack grew to almost halfway across the windshield.
I contacted our insurance company to make sure there were no restrictions on who we get to replace our windshield. They will have their glass guy (?) call me to make an appointment to replace the windshield at our location. We also had the windshield replaced in our other truck for the same reason. That didn't occur until after we owned the truck for about 6 years and had over 40,000 miles on the vehicle. We get normal "dings" in our vehicle windshields, but it isn't very common to get cracks that ruin the entire windshield. Anybody that doesn't get glass coverage on their auto policies is crazy, as windshields are not cheap.
With just over two weeks to go before leaving for Cody, we have things to do to get ready. Josie has three days off this weekend (Sat-Mon) so it will be the last chance to get things organized for the trip. Boy, time sure does fly...
