We received the formal offers from the Buffalo Bill Village in Cody yesterday for our summer jobs. Everything is as we discussed with them except they offered us more money than we expected. It isn't a windfall, but every extra dollar counts. We will begin work on May 15 and work through October 5. It is slightly longer than Jackson, but only by about two weeks. The duties outlined in the offer are just as we discussed. There are 83 cabins in the Village, and we will both be doing Room Prep which is one of the desired jobs. Here is the description as written in our offer letters:
"Responsibilities include but are not limited to removal of soiled linen/terry, trash and used amenities from cabins; replacement of same; delivery/sort of linen/terry to the laundry; restock maid carts and storage room with linen, terry and amenity inventory. Additional duties included as assigned by the Department Manager, General Manager, or his/her designee."
Also, because we are a returning workamper couple, we will not have to pay the 3$ per day Utility Fee that new workers will pay. We are excited about returning to Cody and are, at the same time, sorry that our relationship with the Virginian Lodge is, at least, on hold for the foreseeable future. We can do most of the same activities in Cody and there is also the benefit of the beautiful mountains and wildlife that we have gotten used to in Jackson. It is also about the same distance from Yellowstone, so that is another positive. If you have the time, go back to 2010 and read the blog entries from May until October when we were last in Cody. It is good reading...
