Yesterday was an unusual day in a couple ways. First of all, we worked the afternoon shift for the first time on a Friday afternoon. This meant that most of the check ins would occur on our shift. Plus, Jack's Place in the banquet room would be open on our shift and that meant that we would have to stay open until they closed at about 9 PM - that's close to our bedtime. Of course, the resort would be packed again for this weekend and there were 30 check ins scheduled for the day. The only problems we had were with a couple cancellations, walk ins to replace the cancellations and people calling saying they will be arriving late. It was a very busy day and we didn't get out of there until 9:45 last night. Our cabins are totally filled and the RV park has only a few sites left.
There was a storm that moved through in the early afternoon and lasted for about an hour. There was a little bit of thunder and lightening, but nothing like what they had in the Valley. We heard about some vicious storms in the Phoenix area and it appears that the Monsoon has returned again. We only had .06" of rain the whole afternoon but we heard of rain up to .50" and higher in some Phoenix areas. The rain is desperately needed everywhere in this state and it does cool things down in the Valley.
Today is another afternoon shift for us. There won't be the mass check ins that there were yesterday but, once again, Jack's Place will be open so we expect another late night. We'll enjoy the leisurely morning though as we don't start until 1 PM. Chi Chi and Jaymie are enjoying their time with there friends that are visiting. They were the last group to leave Jack's Place last night. It may be a tough morning for them.
Til tomorrow...
