Hunting Season Starts

I'm not exactly sure what day - probably Friday or Saturday - but the first hunting season has started. The archery for deer season is in full swing as evidenced by hunters coming into the store dressed in their camouflage. A hunter came in about lunchtime yesterday and described an encounter with 4 bucks, all huge, that he had just up the road on Forest Highway 81. He took a shot at one from about 75 yards but misjudged the distance and missed. We have not seen one deer since we arrived and we have traveled a lot of miles on these roads. Also, one of the kitchen staff members that stays in a trailer in another part of the resort said she saw about 7 deer yesterday morning at the edge of the resort. I guess the hunters are shaking up the deer population and they are going places they haven't been. The hunting seasons will run now until well into December. There's archery, muzzle loader and rifle seasons for deer, and the same for elk. Then there is a late season. It makes me wish I had applied for a tag.

Yesterday, we posted several travel websites that were given to one of our restaurant staff. While that woman was doing laundry her husband tripped in the resort parking area and landed on his face, causing a nasty gash on his nose. We all thought he should have been taken to Urgent Care but she only took him back to their rig to lie down with ice and towels on his face.

The packaging is supposed to arrive today for the laptop repair. A full backup of the data will be done after work today and the computer will be packaged and taken to Flagstaff tomorrow on our weekly trip for supplies. We could have called them to schedule a pickup but since we were going to Flagstaff anyway, we decided to drop it off.

Today is an 8 to 2 day on our schedule, then we have our weekend (yea!). We are looking forward to these two days off since last week we were on standby because of Jaymie's trip to Montana. We'll try to schedule some fun, like maybe a short hike. Until tomorrow...
