Touring the Town

It was a good opportunity yesterday for us to just drive around the town and get familiar with where things were located. One important trip was one to the Casting Center near Disney World which is where I have my interview scheduled for Tuesday. I didn't want to go to the appointment without knowing exactly where I was going. It was a good thing we went. It is only about 5 miles from our campground, but it is at the entrance to the park and could be a traffic nightmare early in the morning.

It was a very interesting drive around town. We found Costco, Sam's Club, two Walmart's (one of which is a superstore), Office Max (I needed some 2011 material), and just plain stores - everywhere. We took a picture of the way the street looks with all the "junk" shops, fast food places and rip-off joints:

The thing that makes it even more interesting is that everything is very old - 50's style motels, condos and stores. You would think that people would want to update and modernize their businesses.

We have some local trips we also need to take today. We will stop at the Camping World to talk to "Jim" - the counterpart in service to Joel in Chattanooga - to make sure everything is going smoothly with the paperwork transfer and contacting Lippert Components. We also plan to get our Florida driver's licenses since we have a Florida address and vehicle registrations.

It is cloudy this morning but still nice and warm. If the sun comes out, we may even do the swimming pool this afternoon. We have signed up for another week here since we will possibly need more time if the repairs don't get completed on Thursday, and we also plan to go to the Tampa RV show next week which is only an hour away. Everything should begin to fall into place starting tomorrow. The job situation is key to our next move. In the meantime, we will enjoy the time we have here - however long it may be...
