Holiday Time at Home

The holiday was spent doing some work outside that needed to be done around the house. First, we started by offering the kids some money to clean our Jeep and the truck, so they brought a couple of their friends over to help. It started out like it was organized and maybe we would get the vehicles cleaned:

It quickly deteriorated into bickering and fighting over who would hold the hose and do the rinse - Josie stepped in and settled that argument:

It rapidly went down hill from there and the group lost interest. I ended up finishing the job but appreciated their attempt.

Meanwhile, Josie took on the job of weeding around the flower bed on the side of the house:

She did get that job completed and it looks much better in that area of the yard.

The rest of the day was spent enjoying the weather which is still perfect for this time of year. We sat out on the porch and read our books for awhile and basically, just relaxed. There is a weather front on the way, but we get to enjoy a couple more days of sunshine.

The kids are all back to school today, so it promises to be a quiet day. Patty has some errands to run and we may tag along on a couple of those, but other than that we will continue to enjoy our vacation time before we move on to Kentucky. That's about it for now...
