Anniversary Lunch

Yesterday was our 39th wedding anniversary and Patty took us to lunch at a great soup and salad place called Sweet Tomatoes:

We had lots of salad, soup and muffins that were a real treat for us. It was very special and appreciated.

The day was very quiet with the boys in school and Mark working at the store. We did find out that Austin received an invitation to try out for the U.S. National Team (or Team USA) that will be competing when he is a junior in high school in 2011-2012. The competition for spots on the team will be held in Austin, TX, on January 29-30, 2011. It is a very big deal as college scouts and former NFL scouts from all over the country are part of the evaluation team and it would be a great stage for Austin to display his talent. The players that are selected are introduced during a home game at the nearest NFL stadium next season as a player that will compete for the United States in the 2012 Under-19 World Championships. It sounds like an exciting opportunity for Austin, and we will keep everybody posted on those developments.

The streak for cloudless skies ended this morning with a thundershower that went through around 8 AM. The forecast for today is rain, but it is suppose to clear again beginning tomorrow. The temperatures are also closer to normal at high 60's vs mid 80's. Overall, we can't complain about the weather.

Josie and I are off to Costco to pick up a few things while Patty has dates with her girlfriends for lunch. More tomorrow...
