Dreary and Wet

The rain has returned after a record (so far) 7 consecutive days of no measurable precipitation. It must have started after midnight, since our weather station has the entire day yesterday as being dry. That means that almost all of the outside work is put on hold, and I will be spending most, if not all, of the day today inside helping out at the front desk. Josie has some extra duties today to cover for one of our workers who was hospitalized Monday and will not return to work until at least tomorrow. This worker is one that is scheduled to work about three hours each day cleaning the office building and the rest rooms. He only works for the exercise to keep his heart in shape, but I guess he has been trying to do too much. We hope he doesn't try to come back too soon.

One of our manager's, Mary, is going to have some dental work done on Wednesday, so instead of Josie and I both working from 8 to 1 on that day, we will split the schedule and one of us will work the 1 to 6 part of the day. That happens occasionally and is OK with us. They may have to cover for us sometime. Every day seems to be getting busier and busier as we approach the Memorial Day weekend and the busy season. We need to get a second terminal in our office soon or there is going to be a problem with handling all the business. There were a couple instances yesterday where we had to make individuals wait while the transactions were completed on our single terminal for someone else. Management has indicated that a second terminal is coming, so we hope it is soon. Other than that, it is business as usual...
