Busy Work Days

It was just as we thought it would be yesterday. We had lots of people coming and going in the office all day since the park is filled for the holiday weekend. Plus, the folks from the rally are still here and they were using the meeting room next to the office most of the day. The problem it created for us that is one we haven't run until yesterday was that the large crowd made it difficult to get access to the restrooms for cleaning and the spa for testing. We managed to get it all done though.

I'm not looking forward to this morning. There are 52 people that will be eligible for newspapers this morning - those that are here on a short term basis. Since it is raining, each of the papers has to be bagged in a small plastic bag. I start at 7:30 this morning and have to have all the papers delivered in time to open the office by 8 AM. Josie doesn't start until 9:30, so it will be a challenge. There are some things that need to be done prior to opening the doors for business at 8 AM. The money needs to be counted, the computer needs to be fired up, the check-in and check-out reports need to be done, and the doors to the rest of the office complex need to be unlocked. It should be fun.

It was mentioned on the TV news last night that we have a chance to set the all time record for rain in Portland for the Month of May. The existing record is 5.50" and we sit at right around 5.00" before today. The rain gauge we have here at our rig shows that we have had 5.72" in May so far, but we would get more rain than Portland. That's a lot of rain for one month no matter how you cut it.

Today wraps up the holiday weekend, so enjoy the last day wherever you are...
