As yesterday was Josie's XX birthday, we made it a kind of special day. The weather cooperated for most of the day and we went to the swimming pool at the Rec Center to hang out:
We took a pitcher of margaritas and some snacks and were there long enough to get more tan for Patty and the start of a tan for us.
The plan was to try something a little different for dinner and the original choice was a restaurant in North Scottsdale. We decided that we didn't feel like traveling so far for dinner, so we opted for the Longhorn Steakhouse in Surprise. Josie had salmon while Patty and I ordered steaks. It was a good choice as we all enjoyed our meal. After filling up at dinner, it was decided we would wait until today to have Josie's cake.
The evening was exciting as we had a huge monsoon storm go through at around 7 PM that lasted over an hour. We had the high winds that are associated with these storms and we watched branches -broken off from the surrounding trees - fly around the golf course. One of our tall potted plants blew over, but other than that, there was no damage to report.
We have a neighborhood search in Scottsdale scheduled for today. Patty wanted to get some ideas on homes and prices to consider when they eventually move here from Illinois within the next year or so. The plan is to end that "tour" with a visit to Josie's new job location - AJ's in south Scottsdale...
