We had a great afternoon and evening yesterday celebrating Patty's birthday. Mark and Brandon arrived in the morning and all of us got together again at Brian and Amy's house to begin the birthday celebration.
The boys, of course, were having a great time in the pool and enjoying the warm sunshine. It was a pleasant change from the cold, snowy, winter weather in the Chicago area:
All of us enjoyed a visit on the patio before going to dinner:
The restaurant that was selected for Patty's birthday dinner was one that was an Italian restaurant (Oregano's) in Cave Creek. We traveled there in three vehicles and arrived at around 5:30 PM to discover that there were - no parking spaces available and a 2 1/2 hour wait for seating for dinner. That was not expected for a Monday night. Brian and Amy made a couple phone calls and it was decided that we would change the dinner location to a nice Mexican restaurant - El Encantado Dos - that only had an hour waiting time. Actually, we arrived there and immediately found seating in the lounge area and were able to get service right away. It was a terrific dinner and we had the hostess take this photo of the group as we were leaving:
There were 14 of us which made for a nice (mini) family reunion.
Following dinner, we all returned to Brian and Amy's for some birthday cake. It was a perfect ending to a fun day.
Here is a shot of Patty's birthday cake:
and a couple nice shots of Patty and Patty and Mark:
Debby is flying home this morning and Josie goes back to work but we still have some fun activities planned so stay tuned...
