Yesterday was the start of the 10 day inspection period on our house. The prospective new owners have the 10 day period to perform inspections and identify any problems, if any, and request (in writing) any repairs that would need to be performed. We are confident that there are no items that need attention and that the inspection will be accepted without any required repairs. If not, the repairs will most likely be minor and not impact the sales cycle. This is a major phase of the sale - along with the appraisal. As the old saying goes: it ain't over till it's over. The fact that the new owners will need to close on their own sale at the same time will be an advantage to us in our timeframe.
Of course, the (successful) sale of our home is the most important event for us right now. We will be exploring other options during the sale process. For example, we have a meeting scheduled with a realtor on Saturday to show us some properties in Sun City which is an option we have discussed. Of course, none of those will provide the ability for us to keep our RV next to the house. The fifth wheel would have to be stored in the Sun City RV storage facility which we have used before when we lived in Sun City Grand. It is very inexpensive - around $100 per year - and is convenient. Although not the first choice, it would be an option that may be acceptable if we are not able to store it at our home.
At any rate, we are rethinking our commitment to return to Jackson. There are more changes that we have heard about, including higher costs for our site at the Elk Refuge. We need to find out those details...
