We met the realtor - Ira Schneider - from Award Realty in Sun City at 10 AM yesterday. He had 5 houses lined up for us to visit that were in a specific area of Sun City that we were interested in seeing. They were also on lots with specific requirements so that we could narrow down our search for what might be a fit for us.
Sun City takes in a large area with all kinds of homes - townhomes, condos, duplexes, single homes - that are located in various parts of the city. The homes are old - mostly built in the 1960's - but most have been renovated and updated quite a bit. There are some great buys in Sun City and we saw some of them yesterday. There were a couple of favorites that the realtor is following up on with questions for us. One of the most important questions to be answered is what do we do with our RV? If that were to become the plan for us, I would be forced to forget any hope of keeping our RV at the house. The Sun City Storage facility is totally filled and nobody knows when space will be freed for other units. There are always outside, public storage facilities that cost somewhat more than the Sun City arrangement. The beauty of Sun City is the location - convenient to everything - and the fact that taxes are low (no schools) and the HOA is nonexistent in the areas we were looking. We are taking a serious look at life in Sun City.
All of this activity brings us back to the fact that our window is closing more each day for planning for the summer and beyond...
