The main news is that the Western Michigan University Broncos will play in the Cotton Bowl against Wisconsin. That's a terrific opponent from the standpoint that Austin will play against his best friend, Troy Fumagalli, the tight end for Wisconsin. We have already started making our plans to go to the game and can't imagine a better way to spend New Year's this year - and Austin's birthday which is Jan1.
Penn State will play in the Rose Bowl against USC and that promises to be another great game. The final four selection for the National Championship included Washington who was selected over Penn State for the final spot in that playoff. That is a great choice as we are also fans of the Washington Huskies.
Patty and family went to Austin's team banquet last night in Kalamazoo and Austin received an award as the team's Most Outstanding Special Teams Player. Below are a few of the shots that Patty took during the banquet:
Congratulations to Austin and the entire WMU football team.
The football day ended with the Seahawks crushing the Carolina Panthers, 40-7, on Sunday Night Football. What a day.
Josie spent the day - while I was basking in the football news - putting together some hand crafted Christmas decorations for our Fifth wheel. Here she is, building her "cone" Christmas tree decoration:
Finally, we have this shot of our Christmas tree - a fiber optic tree that changes colors from white to blue to green and to red, and was given to us many years ago by our beloved daughter Tracy - may she rest in peace:
