The flight that Kristine and Justin took from Seattle was on time and arrived at 5:45 PM. Josie and I sat at the security exit where all passengers had to pass to exit the terminal and we somehow missed them in the crowd that walked past us. We finally caught up with them in baggage claim and made it to the house before 7 PM. It was a smooth trip for them and we were happy that they connected without any glitches.
Justin has matured so much since we last saw him and this is a final visit with him before he goes off into the Air Force. He is waiting for his assignment and is expected to leave by the first of the year. The services are very different these days as far as enlisting and getting assigned. They used to take any warm body off the street and give you a uniform and a ticket to go to boot camp. Today, it is a formal procedure and one that is not guaranteed.
Here are the first shots of their visit which will last the whole week. The first photo is of Kristine and Justin:
Then, mom and Kristine:
And, finally, at the dinner table:
We have lots of activities written down to try to enjoy, so we hope to get as many of those done as possible. Today will be mostly taken up with the Seahawks game on TV from Cincinnati. It will be nice to start the week with a big win...
