Even though we only worked 5 hours yesterday, we were busier than we have been so far in the office. There were several "drop-ins" as we call them, people that come in without reservations and want a space for a day or two. Coupled with the regular folks coming in that have reservations, and making new reservations on the phone, it made for a busier day. I was able to do some more outside landscaping work as the weather was nice once again. It appears that the weather man has it right for a change.
In addition to visiting some interesting places while we are here we discovered that there are some neat events that are held on an annual basis all up and down the coast. These are events like kite festivals, sandcastle contests and many other unique activities that we will attend, when possible, on our days off and our afternoons off. One of the several sandcastle events that is scheduled in June is a major event in Cannon Beach and another, later in the summer (August), right here in Lincoln City. There are also many festivals that are held on an annual basis that promise to keep us busy throughout the summer. It should be a very different and enjoyable experience on the coast for us this year.
Today is our second 5 hour day at work and again we work from 1 to 6. We hope it is as busy as yesterday, and with the continuing nice weather, should make the day go fast. We also did something this morning that we haven't done since we arrived here - we opened our awning. Our front awning is automatic, so even if the wind picks up during the day while we are working, it will close before any wind damage can occur. It really needs to dry out from all the rain we've had. I will have to open our second awning, which is not automatic, sometime when we are going to be at the rig for a length of time. Until tomorrow...
