It was difficult to find enough to do yesterday to stay busy. We worked from 7:45 AM to 5 PM and had very few customers checking in or checking out. It's a good thing there was a TV in the breakfast room where I could watch the Masters - off and on - all afternoon. I was able to watch enough of it to see Phil Mickelson score a well earned victory. The thing that made it sweet was that Tiger didn't win. Josie tried to find things to do to keep herself busy. She did a lot of cleaning - bathrooms, mopping the halls, vacuuming the office, etc. I did do the checks on the spa during the day. At least 3 times a day on Sunday and Monday I check the spa for chemical balance - Ph, Alkalinity, Bromine level -and temperature, water level and a few others. The Oregon state law requires that spas be checked regularly for these and that strict records be kept for their inspection every 6 months or so. It's the first state that we have run into with such strict spa rules. I did pool maintenance and spa maintenance in Palm Springs but nothing like this.
The record for consecutive days of rain continues to grow. It reached 19 days this morning with .04" already by 6 AM. It is hard to believe that there hasn't been at least one high pressure system come through with enough strength to give us a couple dry days. No wonder there is so much moss on all the trees.
Today is another long work day. I will go in a little early to deliver the newspapers to the customers in the park. Then I do spa checks again while Josie does some more cleaning. This place really sparkles though with all the attention given to cleaning. The rest of the day will be filled with trying to keep busy any way we can, without looking bored or like we are ready for naps which would be really easy at about 2 PM. Until tomorrow...
