Our poor weather station just isn't able to cope with this weather. It once again blew over, this time before midnight. I know it was before midnight because so far today my station has recorded no wind and no rain and the ground is soaking wet from rain that occurred during the night. This makes 17 consecutive days of rain - and wind. The problem with keeping the station standing is that the ground is so saturated that the spikes I use to secure it in the ground can't go down far enough to give it a solid base in these winds. These are 10" spikes that I use and I have never had this problem with it before. I will have to figure out a solution for that problem today.
Yesterday was also a short day in the office. I worked from 8 till 10:30 and Josie worked from 8:30 till 1 PM. She worked longer because she came in a little early to make phone calls for the "Value Card" promotion that Premier RV Resorts has going. The owner of all the resort locations, Paul Williams, was in town the other night and our manager indicated that he told him that the cash flow has taken a hit as a result of the poor economy and they are trying ways to increase the cash flow before the busy summer season. This park will be booked solid for the summer, but until then there aren't a lot of people in the park. Who can blame them with all the rain and wind we've been having.
Much of today will be spent at home. I will be watching the Masters Golf Tournament on TV while Josie makes her blanket from the material she bought a couple days ago. Other than that, we may try to do something outside if the weather improves...
