Surprise Visit

Things were progressing normally at the Visitor Center yesterday when, at about 2 or 3 PM, I looked up and saw the surprise of the season - my hunting buddy and great friend, Scott Harrison had dropped by to say hello from Idaho Falls. It has been years since we saw each other. Here is a shot that Josie took of the two of us in the Visitor Center in front of our famous elk display:

We will get together again at his home in Idaho Falls (Iona) soon to say hello to his wife Miranda and visit for a short time. It would really be nice if we were somehow able to put together another hunting trip, somewhere, sometime in the near future. There were many great times that we have had together over the years.

Our weekend begins today with the promise of some lousy weather over the next several days. We can't seem to be able to get three consecutive nice days for our time-off. There has to be a stretch sometime over this long summer where we get only sunshine on Wednesday thru Friday.

We will get together with our friends one more time over the next several days before they head back to Florida. They will be going to Yellowstone today, so it looks like the earliest we will get together will be tomorrow...
