Unbelievable Weather

What an incredible day yesterday. Each of the three days we had off got worse with more snow and cold temperatures. For June 9, it is a surprise for even the natives. Josie and I were going to take a drive to the northern section of the Grand Teton National Park to try and spot some bears. It wasn't long before we ran into what amounted to whiteout conditions:

The mountains were barely visible at any given moment:

So we stopped and had some lunch at the Signal Mountain Lodge. We shared a great sandwich and then got back in the truck to try and find some bears. The weather was no better, so we turned for home. On the way, we saw some wildlife in areas where we have previously spotted game. These Bison were all over the fields during this storm:

and, these elk were in the same field, but further south:

Finally, as we approached our RV site, Josie snapped this interesting photo of a lonely tree:

One last photo of a small deer that we spotted as we started out on our drive :

It is 33 degrees this morning. As we hear about the Phoenix temperatures in the 105-110 range, we aren't sure which is better. It is probably a good thing that we are working today, and will be for the next three days. Hopefully, by the time we get another day off on Wednesday it will be getting closer to normal...
