No Deal

We waited until the time that the response to our counter offer was due and there was no contact with the buyer's agent. Our agent, Richard, contacted them again two hours after the time limit and received this reply:

"Hi Richard, I apologize, unfortunately my buyers will not be moving forward with the purchase.

They thought it was a very good offer but they are actually trying to work out a family issue at this moment and have decided to postpone their home buying all together.

I thank you so much for your time and I am sorry it did not work out."

It was not the news we expected, nor was it the news we wanted to hear. We are not surprised though, as they acted strangely throughout the negotiations. We have to start over now, but the good news is we may get an offer that is closer to our asking price. Of course, the other bad news is that we had one slip away that could have solved a lot of problems. We have no idea now what will happen as we lose more time.

There are three open houses scheduled this weekend, beginning today and ending on Sunday. Maybe we will get something positive out of this weekend. Right now, we are a bit bummed...
