Our scheduled coworker for yesterday, Nicole, called in sick and we had a substitute worker for the first time this year. The person standing in for her is named Harvey and he is a worker that we spent some time with last year so we are familiar with him. Actually, he is staying in a trailer next to us in the RV Park and is a single fellow that lives out of his truck. It's quite a story. He has no relatives except for a brother in Florida, and all of his worldly possessions are with him when he travels in his truck. He purchased the trailer just to use this summer as a place to stay. His background is in the hotel industry and he travels all over the country working in different hotels and lodges as a seasonal front desk employee. He is our age and is a very quiet, competent worker, and a nice person to be around. Last year, he rented a condo on the other side of the Teton Pass in Victor, ID, while he was working the lodge. It's hard to imagine his lifestyle, but it works for him and he seems happy all the time.
The cold weather is continuing to stick around. It was 33 again this morning and is making it difficult to get out and do things outside. It is clear today and is suppose to get back into the 70s where we haven't been for about a week now. We are keeping our eyes on the wildfire activities in Colorado and are hoping that we don't get a repeat of last year when the haze from all the surrounding wildfires ruined the views of the mountains. That didn't happen until the August/September time frame last year so it will be interesting to watch.
We are talking about taking a short bike ride this morning. It might warm up enough to make it enjoyable and we need the exercise. Hopefully, we can make that happen and still have some time to relax before going to work at 3 PM...
