Rafting Photos and Pinedale

Before I get into yesterday's activities, I wanted to show the two photos that we purchased from our rafting trip on Thursday:

Josie and I are on the second and third row on the right. You can see how the lady sitting next to me was holding my arm through the rapids. She began doing that after we went through the first rapids and she fell backwards into the raft. It was another great ride and lots of fun.

Our goal yesterday was to see the small town of Daniel (population 100) that was just before the "big" town of Pinedale (population 1400). There was  a property there that was advertised in the paper that we wanted to try to find, but the distance - 76 miles each way from Jackson - is too far for us to consider. The drive was beautiful and the town is kind of nice:

There are no major stores in the town though, so we are thinking that major shopping has to be done in Rock Springs or Jackson. We did make a short stop at a mini-mart and got some ice cream though. We didn't locate the specific property we saw advertised, but saw several others for sale that were not especially appealing.

It made for a beautiful drive and we passed lots of pronghorn along the way:

There are so many nice areas in western Wyoming that it would take a whole summer to see them, even if we went to a different area each weekend we had off from work.

It was a scorcher yesterday by Jackson standards - 89 degrees - and we are thankful that we had two days off this week that were spectacular.

It's back to work today at 3 PM, so the weather can change or do whatever it wants for the next 5 days...
