Our final drive to end the season was from Monument Valley, UT, to Phoenix, AZ and covered about 300 miles. We left at 8:30 AM, and following several stops along the way, arrived safely at our destination at the Pioneer RV Resort in North Phoenix at 1 PM. An hour was gained with the change in time zone from Mountain Standard Time to the Pacific time zone.
Our site was just as we left it and we are now set up to spend the next several months in our familiar location:
Along the drive yesterday, we passed the San Francisco Peaks in Flagstaff and caught this shot of the Fall colors which are near their peak in this area:
Actually, we have discussed taking a drive to the north country to see the Fall colors before the trees lose their leaves for winter. Maybe today (?).
There is much to catch up with before we head to Chicago on October 19, but it feels good to be on our own schedule and done with work for awhile...
