Since we moved into our home, there has been one critical activity that we have overlooked - changing the locks on all our doors. We obviously knew that we had to get that done, but the actual event was overlooked as a result of everything else going on. Anyway, I spent a good portion of the morning yesterday researching locksmiths and ended up with a deal from Angie's List that looks pretty good. We will have all the locks (8) on our doors re-keyed, our two garage remote openers reprogrammed, get a padlock for our gate and get 4 new keys - for the nice sum of $109. That seems like a great deal to me. We will find out this morning between 9 and 11 AM when they are scheduled to come and do the work.
I also researched fast growing shade trees to solve a problem we have next to our patio where we had a couple bushes removed by the landscaper when he was here the other day to remove our dead queen palms. I ended up deciding on a Majestic Ash from Moon Valley Nurseries. I went to their nearby location to look at trees and this one stood out as a best buy. I put a deposit on one pending Josie's approval of the choice which we will verify today. The big problem with most fast growing trees in AZ is that they are messy, are deciduous or have invasive root problems. There are only a few that don't have one or all of those drawbacks.
Other than taking care of the locks and the tree, today looks like a fairly open day for us. Josie has the day off, so maybe we can do something else that doesn't involve spending money...
