Planting Progress

Yesterday we went to a couple places to shop for planting containers and plants. We ended up buying several nice pots from Sam's Club that were a better bargain than those at The Pottery Place. We also bought several bags of planting soil which were also a great buy at Sam's Club.

Our next objective was to locate some nice plants to fill them. The best selection and prices were at Home Depot. So, we purchased a Pygmy Date Palm, (2) Common Myrtle 'Compacta', and a Trumpet Bush. You can see the details of these plants in the links provided. All of these can be controlled for their height by the container and by trimming. These plants will all be connected to our sprinkler system so that we don't have to be concerned about their watering schedule.

These are some shots of our plants and containers:

It will be fun watching them grow and bloom. We still have some maintenance to perform on the other plants that have been damaged by the winter frost.

That gives us a head start on some of the projects we need to complete before May...
