Final Day in Lincoln City

It came a lot sooner than we anticipated, but the end of our stay in Lincoln City is winding down to a close. We are always sad to leave an area that we enjoyed staying in, but at the same time, we are looking forward to our new adventure in Cody, Wyoming. We will be staying in Cheney, WA - just short of Spokane - tomorrow night at a park called Ponderosa Falls. It is one of the RPI (Resort Parks International) Preferred parks through our Thousand Trails membership so, even though it is not owned by Thousand Trails, we get to stay there for $12. The total miles scheduled for tomorrow's trip are 452, which is a bit longer day than we would like. A comfortable daily trip pulling the fifth wheel is closer to 350 miles, which leaves more time to relax between legs of the trip. To make up for the longer day, we will leave before 6 AM - hopefully.

We stayed here for a total of 78 days, and we had measurable rain on a total of 60 of those days. Seems like the rain forest to me. It's amazing though that even with all the rain, we enjoyed the area and hope to come back some day. There is no prettier coastline than the Oregon Coast.

Today is a 7:30 start time for me - newspaper deliveries - and I get off at 4 PM. Josie will do the 9:30 to 6 PM shift and close out for the last time. Our work will be done except for my 9 PM security check and to close up the spa and check the office doors. The friends we are leaving behind have reminded us again that we are about the sixth couple that has left in the last 2 years for the same reasons. Too bad. We will have to get all of our last minute chores done in a short amount of time tonight - like gassing up the vehicles, shopping for snacks and food to eat on the way, etc. Until tomorrow...
