The drive to the airport with Patty was according to the planned schedule and we were home again before her flight departed from Phoenix. We had a wonderful time with her this past week and can hardly wait to see her and her family at Thanksgiving - if it all comes together. Between now and then, we all agreed that we work hard to get into better shape and to lose some pounds so that we can attempt the climb to the top of Yarnell Hill to see the rest of the monument created in memory of the 19 Granite Mountain Hotshots who perished in that awful fire on Sunday, June 30, 2013. It will be worth the effort.
Before departing for the airport, we took a quick tour of the Rec Center so that Patty could see all the other activities that are available to the residents here. The facilities are complete and in like-new condition.
Patty's flight landed in Chicago close to the scheduled time and we heard from her when she arrived home at around 6:45 PM our time (8:45 PM her local time). It's all back to normal again for all of us. Josie begins her new job with one day of training next Tuesday and the weather remains a challenge to handle. Temperatures for the next week will hover around 110 with always the chance of more monsoon storms. UGH!!….
