Visiting Friends

During the day yesterday - while it was cooking everything outside - I paid my first visit to the Rec Center to try out the fitness equipment. It was at the Bell Center which our closest one and is the center that will serve as our primary one out of the 7 that are available to us.

I checked in and went to the fitness center and signed up for a treadmill. The equipment was wide open so there was no wait at all for a machine. This is the view I had while doing my 30 minute workout on the treadmill:

Between the hot sun and the summer vacation effect, the pool area was also not very crowded. It was a great first experience.

Josie was able to get off early from work yesterday so we had plenty of time to get ready for our visit with the Tates (John and Vicki) which was scheduled at 5 PM. They have been Sun City residents for quite some time although the house they are in now is new to them in just the last three years. They live about a half mile from us and are very close to the house we almost bought which is on another of the Sun City golf courses. It was a wonderful visit where we enjoyed talking about a lot of things including our experiences together in Jackson. This shot was taken just as we were sitting down for dinner:

They are leaving later this week to spend some time in Oregon and escape this awful heat in AZ.
