We had rain all day yesterday. At times, it was coming down with fierce lightening and thunder and was so heavy it flooded the streets and the pond behind Patty's house. The rain carried over to Kalamazoo, MI, where the WMU stadium (Waldo Stadium) was flooded to the extent that the Homecoming Game between WMU and Akron was postponed until today. The only time we went outside was to take a brief trip in the afternoon to Dick's Sporting Goods to get some sweatpants for the boys.
We had time - with all the nasty weather - to cook a nice, big breakfast in the morning:
We had a visit from Michael during the day which was the first time this week that we have seen him. Michael is doing well with his new job selling auto financing plans to dealerships. He has his own apartment now that he shares with friends. This photo was taken of the three boys during his visit:
Our day was pretty much taken up with watching sports. The college games were on during the day and the Cubs/Dodgers game was on in the evening. Unfortunately, the Dodgers won the opening game of the NLCS for the National League Pennant. There is a way to go yet, so there is still hope for the Cubs.
We also took this shot of Jordan who had to go to work last night. He works in the restaurant at Cress Creek Country Club on weekends:
He sure looks handsome in his work uniform. With both boys playing on the football team, it is difficult to work other opportunities for some extra cash. Brandon also works on weekends with one of the local landscaping companies that is owned by a friend.
Our final full day of our visit is today and we can't believe the week is almost over. We have had a wonderful time and are so thankful to have the opportunity to spend some quality time with everybody. Someday, we hope that we will all live close enough that we won't have to limit our visits to once a year...
