First a little background info. When we sold canisters of bear spray at the visitor center in Jackson, we sold them with the stipulation that there was no refund if not used. Many tourists and vacationers purchased the spray, went on hikes, didn't use it and had the problem of disposal since they could not travel on the airlines with these canisters. So, many of those travelers dropped off the unused canisters at our visitor center and we had some (8) that we inadvertently brought home. We did not want to leave those canisters in the hot RV while we went to Chicago this week, so we figured out a way to dispose of them.
We have wanted to check out the Lake Pleasant RV Resort to see if there were any changes since we stayed there a couple years ago. There is also a resident fire station at the Resort and what better place to dispose of the bear spray canisters? We accomplished both missions yesterday and saw that our rates here at the Pioneer RV Resort are about half of what they are at Lake Pleasant. Of course, the amenities are newer and more modern and we will always have a soft spot for Lake Pleasant, but we are saving money and have better convenience to what we need here, so we will most likely stay.
I printed our boarding passes this morning for our Chicago trip tomorrow. We will get an early start tomorrow and be at the airport by around 5AM for our 7AM flight. It looks like we will get a nice week, weather wise. Of course, the forecast can change, but we look forward to a great time no matter what happens with the weather...
