August did not go out quietly weather wise. We had a very active Monsoon storm that dropped almost 1/2" of rain and brought some winds that, although not as strong near us, created some havoc in areas not too far from us. The strange thing about the storm yesterday is that the weather people didn't forecast the storm. Just about every day they forecast some Monsoon activity and miss the mark. I guess it is a tough call as these storms just seem to "pop-up" anywhere, anytime.
I was waiting all day for the landscape guy to stop by and he never did. He is the "future" son-in-law of the folks that lived in our house before we became the owners. They rented it for a year and then purchased a larger home just down the street. Anyway, I stopped by his house at around 2 pm to find out when to expect him and I was told he would probably arrive later in the day at around 3:30 or 4 pm. He never showed up yesterday, but that could also be a result of the storm activity. Maybe he will stop by today.
Happy August everybody. We are slowly cranking through the Arizona summer that always promises to be hot and stormy...
