Taxes Filed

The rain arrived as forecasted yesterday. We didn't get that much for the day - .10" - but it was enough to make it cool and basically miserable all day. We are suppose to have a couple nice days before seeing more rain on the weekend.

I did get the taxes done and e-filed. We paid a small amount on the Federal return, and get a small refund on the state return. That is not so bad. The main thing is that they are done for another year.

I went to work at Sam's Club from 3:15 until 9 PM last night while Josie had her normal schedule for the day. I stopped by the new house on the way into work to see if any more work had been done and there hasn't. I did see about 3 or 4 green stickers on one of the plumbing posts so the slab inspections are done and we should see framing work started any time now. We should see rapid progress from now on.

Just a side note - we had a call from the minister at the church we attended on Sunday. He is wanting to sit down with us for about an hour to talk about the church and he is already pressuring us to join. That is a no-no. We don't like being pressured into joining any church and want to take our time trying other options and giving a church the chance to satisfy our needs before making that kind of decision. We were not that crazy about the service on Sunday and will give it another try when they have the regular Pastor giving the sermon instead of the assistant we heard on Sunday. Besides, we are not regular church-goers and enjoy the freedom to attend churches of our choice. There is another Lutheran church not too far away that is on our list of churches to try in the area...
