We had to do some local errands yesterday morning so we drove a short distance in town to one of the several parks. This park actually has two lakes, one of which is a reservoir, but both are known to be good fishing holes. This is a view from the park, looking toward the edge of town and also toward the "Sleeping Indian" mountain. This has been shown in an earlier post but if you look at the top of the mountain you can see what looks like a face, and chin:
The park also had a very nice picnic area and a path around the smaller lake that is about 1 mile total and is used by joggers. We didn't spend a lot of time there on this occassion, but maybe we will come here some day for a short picnic and enjoy watching for the wildlife that is suppose to frequent this park.
It was a much more "sane" day at work yesterday with not nearly the number of reservations coming in and no extra cabins to sell. This was a result of having 2 Tours come in that ate up all the spare cabins. It was a pleasant day at the office.
There is a woman (Jeanne) that works with us at the front desk a couple days a week that is a local person and has lived in Cody for many years - a transplant from Peoria, IL, in the early 90's. Anyway, she has some horses that she keeps at a friend's ranch just outside of town off the South Fork Road that we are going to visit this morning. We'll hopefully get some photos of our trip there to share tomorrow. Until then...
