Parade Fallout

As is the case with many parades, our Fourth of July Parade in Jackson included "goodies" being tossed to the crowd by individuals on the floats. Each year, the Jackson parade has candy and other items that are tossed to the crowd - mostly for the kids and for advertising their businesses.

This year, one of the floats had ears of corn that were being tossed into the crowd. Josie was the beneficiary of one of those ears of corn. She, however, didn't make a clean "grab" of the corn and it smacked her on her upper lip as she wrestled it into her hands. She received a small, swollen, black and blue mark on her upper lip as a consequence of her catch. Worse than that, yesterday, a small chip broke off of her front tooth. It was evidently cracked by the "hit" and fell off while eating.

Now, we will have to get her to a dentist on our days off to get the tooth repaired. Hopefully, it can be repaired quickly and without breaking the bank. It's all in the "fun" (?!) of a parade, I guess.

We are enjoying the shorter work schedule so far. Today is our "Friday" and this week seemed to go a lot faster. We still plan on a visit to Yellowstone this week but it will depend on when Josie can get an appointment for her tooth. With luck, it can be done tomorrow...
