New Face at Work

One of the vacant staff positions was filled yesterday with a local girl. As it is a problem to fill these openings with workampers - no housing or RV spaces available - it becomes a problem. The new girl seems to be competent and we will do whatever we need to do to help her succeed. Our manager indicated that she needed to fill only one more position before rescheduling us to 4 days per week. It is with mixed feelings that we look forward to that day. We want the extra day off, but would miss the extra pay for the fifth work day. Time will tell.

We are watching the Gros Ventre (grow vont) River with a close eye. The snow runoff has created a higher and faster river flow which is eroding the road close to where we camped last year. All of the folks staying in that campground this season have to travel an extra 5 miles or so to get to work in town to avoid that area. The extra snowfall this year has created flooding problems just about everywhere. The Snake River is also running faster and higher, but that is somewhat controlled by the Jackson Lake Dam water release. The temperatures are higher than normal this time of the year and that isn't helping the situation. We will keep an eye on the news and try to get some photos when we can...
