It finally happened after 49 days on the market. We received an offer on our house. It came in yesterday afternoon following a showing on Monday and we only had until 7 PM to respond. Josie was able to leave work an hour early so that we could discuss a response and to draft a counteroffer with our agent. The offer was a bit low but not ridiculously low. The other terms were reasonable and the COE (Close of Escrow) was March 29. That is a bit ambitious as the loan is FHA and they normally take at least 45 days to close. We hope they are able to pull it off. The important step is the next one - they must accept our counteroffer today before 5 PM. We have already decided that if we don't get a contract by the end of the first week in March, we will again place the home on the rental market. The fun begins.
We heard from our former manager in Jackson yesterday. She is being moved to the Airport store in Grand Teton National Park so we will not be working with her this year. She told us about some changes that are being made for this year. Some of them have us a bit concerned about our decision to return again this year. We will give lots of thought to our current commitment and decide on an action plan before the time comes. Our first, and most important goal, is to get the house issue resolved...
