Yesterday marked the two week point. That is, two weeks from yesterday our commitment here ends for another year. The time seems to go slowly at this point as we look forward to moving on to other activities.
We have been surprised at the volume of business at the Visitor Center for so late in the season. The business volume is higher now than it has been all year. There are probably several reasons, but we are now getting our generation of visitors since the kids are now back in school. It has to slow down soon as we get closer to potential snow days and bad weather the closer we get to winter.
While driving home last night at around 7:30, we caught the setting sun shining on the Sleeping Indian mountain that is visible from everywhere in the Jackson area:
The likeness is amazing.
Our second consecutive day of closing is today and we follow that with two days of opening before getting more time off. The big problem with that schedule is getting home late on days we close when we have to get up early the next morning to open. Fortunately, it is only a couple days each week for the rest of the way.
Soon, we will begin organizing the RV for our departure...
