This will probably be the shortest stretch of time off that I'll experience this summer. Having worked until 2 AM this morning, I need to turn around and go back to work at 1 PM today. Fortunately, I only work until 6 PM and then it's 2 days off. Josie worked from 10 AM until 3 PM, so she had some "normal" time between shifts.
My shift was uneventful last night and this morning and Josie actually rode with me for an hour from about 11 PM to midnight. She has a better appreciation now for the duties of the security person. It wasn't so bad except for the usual, few hot spots, where people lose track of time - and their noise level as the alcohol consumption goes up. I'm sure there is a solution to the problem, but people come here to relax and have a good time so we hate to ruin that for them. At the same time, there are other folks that come for relaxation and quiet time, so how can you satisfy everybody? Sometimes it hurts to ask people to quiet down, or worse, break up the party when it's obvious they are having a good time.
The rains came in last night so today will be different from the normal duties. It will be interesting to see what kind of duties are assigned while it's raining. Anyway, there isn't a whole lot to talk about with the short turnaround, so we'll call it a day with this short post...
