The hype was building all morning for the twins' game yesterday. The game was scheduled to start at 12 noon, and we were all ready to see a "win" after the disappointing game Friday night. The game was being played at a field that was close to O'Hare Airport, which was quite a distance from Naperville. Mark left earlier to take the boys to the game and Patty, Josie and I left later. Actually, we were a little late arriving at the game and they were in the early minutes of the first quarter when we arrived. It didn't take long though, as the Patriots (our team) scored an early touchdown. It is difficult to get good action shots with a still camera, but we managed to get some pretty good pictures anyway. The first two are of Brandon (#8):

And then these two of Jordan (#23), who is also the team's kicker:
Just as the big kids in high school have their cheerleading squad, these kids also have cheerleaders:
The Patriots scored early and never looked back. The defense was strong and didn't allow a point as the team won by a score of 25-0. They look like the team to beat in their conference and they have a chance to go to Florida as the representative from this region in the National Playoffs in December.
We arrived back home around 4 PM and had happy hour out on the porch on another glorious day. The temperature was in the high 80's and there wasn't a cloud in the sky for about the 8th consecutive day:
The day was capped with a dinner of "Philly Cheesesteaks", that were cooked by - you guessed it - yours truly:
Actually, they turned out pretty darn good. It's the only way to get the "real" Philly steaks outside of Philadelphia - cook them yourself.
So ended the day that saw the first victory for the good guys. There are no games or practices scheduled for today, so we hope to just relax and enjoy the sunshine - another cloudless and warm day. Until tomorrow...
