It was recovery time yesterday from the classic car rally at the lodge. It was also still time to nurse a couple scratches from our hike last week. The lodge did over $30K in business yesterday as the check-outs from the rally pretty much emptied the lodge and we handled about 40 new guests plus a bus from Caravan Tours to begin normal operations again. That takes care of the rally for another year.
Early last evening we received a phone call from Karen & George that they have arrived in Jackson. They are staying at a different lodge in Jackson where they get a discount as part of the Comfort Inn chain of hotels. The Buffalo Bill Village in Cody has an agreement with Comfort Inns to provide those discounts. Anyway, we will be meeting them at 11 AM today and visit with them until we have to go back to work at 3 PM.
Our day today will see Josie and I working solo as we will every Monday this season. We actually prefer it that way, as the third person usually is not needed except to handle phone calls at the front desk. There are several new faces this year, and we are still getting used to working with them. It has been an experience working with some of them, and we are hoping that they eventually become competent enough to be productive. Right now, we spend a lot of time fixing problems that the new employees create. I guess it's all part of the learning process...
