Chicago Added to Itinerary

We are delighted to add a visit to Chicago to our itinerary for October. We will depart Phoenix on October 9 and spend a week with Patty and her family before returning to Phoenix on the 16th for the long haul over the winter. We are looking forward to visiting with them and getting in a couple of the twins' football games during the week. It doesn't seem possible that they are juniors in high school this year.

There is some really nice weather coming into this area for at least the next five days or so. The temps will be in the low to mid 80's and it will be clear throughout that time. Based on the forecast, we will try to schedule something on our off days to take advantage of that weather. We are running out of time to be able to enjoy those kind of days as September is usually the start of Fall and the color changes.

Two more days this week and we will again have our weekend. The quick turnaround day is tomorrow this week as our schedule was changed for this one time. Usually, our quick turnaround day is today, but we enjoyed an extra day to sleep-in. We like closing for that reason - later start times on the working days. We can see that the visitor centers are beginning their planning for the long winter season as we have begun consolidating our inventory and sending extra items back to the warehouse. The crowds are also changing now. We are getting a lot of retirees now that school has started again in most areas. Soon, we will begin organizing everything for our departure...
