We worked until 7:30 last night and have to open this morning at 7:45 for another quick turnaround day. The good news is that we are off, for our weekend, starting at 4:15 this afternoon. The quick turnaround days - as mentioned before - are only one day per week so it isn't that bad. We prefer to close each day as it gives us the mornings free to do what we can't do on the other days that we open. Our manager tries to give us the early quitting times on the days preceding the weekend and the late start days on the first day back to work following weekends. That makes for longer breaks during the off days. Hope that makes sense.
The Director of the GTA (Grand Teton Association) has reached out to us to try to get a better understanding of what is happening at our visitor center location. We have had staffing issues and personnel problems the entire season, and she wanted to know if our change of plans for the winter season was connected in any way. We have a very good relationship - she is the one who hired us two years ago before she became the Director - and we remain good friends. Anyway, we wrote a long email and sent it to her yesterday. We will probably hear back from her following the holiday weekend.
We are looking forward to our weekend which is forecasted to be a beautiful couple of days weather wise. The plans include a drive - somewhere - tomorrow to kick off the weekend for us...
