Work, Flagstaff and Party

Yesterday was a full day of work in the AM, a trip to Flagstaff in the afternoon and a local party at night. The strangest part of the day came on our trip back from Flagstaff at about 6 PM when we passed through a stretch of road about halfway between Flagstaff and Happy Jack and had a light layer of SNOW on the ground. Sheesh, this is May 30! We had a small storm before we left for Flagstaff (.04") and then we ran into the big storm on the way there. It rained buckets the entire time we were at the Verizon store, went to Sam's Club and headed home. The total rainfall for the day at our site was only .10" though, so Flagstaff had the brunt of the rain. Our high again today was 74 and our low was 39.

We knew there was a party taking place in our banquet room. A local business owner - the owner of the store in Clint's Well - was having a huge party for his daughter who was graduating from NAU (Northern Arizona University). He spared no expense. The party was catered and with an open bar. He invited everybody, including campers and all of our staff. Here are some pictures of the party starting with the side entrance to the banquet room, aptly named "Jack's Place":

Then we have a picture of the party itself with balloons everywhere and lots of people:

The busy open bar (tended by Judy and Ola, our staff bartenders - Judy's husband is the guitar player for our weekend entertainment):

Finally, a picture of some of the staff enjoying themselves - Jaimee (the former flight attendant and front desk co-worker), Josie and Karen and Bernie who are both staff workers in our restaurant:

It was a good time for all.

There was also a gathering - I wouldn't necessarily call it a party - of a large church group in our Ramada. They were all sitting around a huge campfire at the Ramada.

All in all a busy and fun Saturday...
