Watching the Rain

Beginning yesterday in the early afternoon, we have had a storm front arrive that has been steadily dropping rain and is continuing this morning. The forecast for the next week includes rain chances as follows: Today-80 % (try 100%), Fri-80%, Sat-40%, Sun-50%, Mon-40%, Tue-40%, Wed-60%. There is not one sunny day in the forecast and the high temperatures are to be in the high 60's. We are beginning to feel like we are in Seattle in March.

Work, as mentioned previously, has reached a new phase this season and we are not selling out, but being kept busy with walk-ins. Our manager has requested we stay over for one week in October, if possible, to help with an expected busy week as they enter the winter season. We have no problem with that as we are not in a rush to return to AZ, and our site is ready for us whenever we arrive. As long as we can beat the snow out of WY, it works for us. It means extra cash and more bonus when we leave.

There is what appears to be a very slow leak in one of the front tires of the truck. All of our tires were filled with nitrogen a couple years ago and I am searching for a location that offers nitrogen for tires. There are none within about 120 miles of Jackson. There is one location in Pocatello, ID, at a Chevy dealership that we may visit if we can combine the trip with other stops to justify the distance. The tire isn't leaking (nitrogen) very fast, but it needs to be fixed before we head out in October. The truck hasn't been driven much at all since we arrived in May, so maybe the trip will be a good opportunity to keep it in shape. With the rain coming down, it may our best option for the day...

Bring on the Rain

There was a brief moment yesterday when I thought I would not receive delivery of our shed. I had a phone call from the shipper at about 8:15 yesterday morning telling me that the shed could not be delivered until today (Friday) in the afternoon. I reminded her that Amazon committed the delivery for yesterday between 9 AM and noon, and that I would contact them to find out what has happened. The girl called back within 5 minutes of that call saying the tracking info has been updated, and the shed would be delivered as promised, between 9 AM and noon. It arrived at around 12:30, and I started right away on the assembly.

The instructions were terrific, and the material is top notch, so the assembly went very smooth. It only took about an hour and a half to put together, and all the pieces went together without a problem. The instructions said that it would require two individuals to assemble, but I was able to do it alone.  This is what it looked like at the conclusion of the assembly at 2 PM:

We may eventually move it slightly to allow for more room around it, but after Josie came home at 3 PM, we loaded all the cartons of decorations, the folding chairs and all the other stuff that we didn't want to get wet, and we were set to go. After placing a few stepping stones in the front, this is what it looks like in the rear of our space:

The timing was perfect as it started to rain at about 5 PM. It really started raining hard at bedtime, and so far, we have had almost .75" of rain. The forecast is for up to 2 inches, and I think we will easily make that projection. We closed the curtains on our gazebo to protect the furniture and the only thing left out in the elements is our patio table and chairs. Bring on the rain...
