Word of the Day is Wind

We just got over a heavy wind a couple days ago when a storm just grazed our area. We have another day of heavy winds this morning. The last one caused some chairs to go flying and even blew over our holding tank drain-hose line. That has not happened in a long time. We have had some serious winds with gusts into the 40's and 50's. Even though the skies are clear, it makes it difficult to sit outside or even go for a walk.

Our schedule today doesn't involve much outside activity anyway. Except for a planned trip to Walmart to pick up some paper products and miscellaneous items, we plan to do inside stuff. We did stop at Sam's Club yesterday following Josie's doctor appointment to get some hearing aid batteries and some seafood for our diet. By the way, her doctor visit was positive and she is good to go now - except for some high cholesterol for which she received a prescription.

Football and (college) basketball are over now, so it's time for the baseball season. There are about 160 games to go, so - Play Ball!

Still Windy

We've heard that the Rim area - actually the whole high country - can get pretty windy at times. We now know it's true. The wind blew all day yesterday (34 MPH high gust), blew all night long and still is pretty strong (26 MPH) this morning. This is the first time though that we've an extended period of windy weather. The temperatures are staying fairly mild, so that's the good news.

Yesterday also completed our fourth day of all day work. It ended the pay period for the week and even though we missed the first three days of the work week while in Vegas, we still clocked 37 hours (each) for the week. That is after deducting our breaks each day. We heard from Chi Chi and Jaymie yesterday, and they asked us to do it one more day, if we don't mind, so they can extend their Vegas trip one more day. Sure, bring it on. Our schedule is not determined yet for this week, but will be when they return tonight.

We are really getting "hitch-itch" now and are anxious to go to the next location. Our next job is still up in the air but we hope to have something solidified within the next week. We hope so...
