One of the new procedures we have this year is regarding the time card. We really never had one before and always just recorded our time at the end of the day onto an online tally sheet. Now, we have to sign on for each time card punch, including in and out for lunch. It is a royal pain. We discovered a huge error in our paycheck yesterday as we received the printout for our first paystub. My paycheck has our site rental fee ($13.19/day) deducted and it turns out that they deducted 14 days of site rental instead the correct 4 days. Needless to say, that resulted in a large shortage in my check versus Josie's. See, we are not suppose to be charged for site use during pre-work days after arriving in Jackson as the charges should begin on the first official day of work. Our first chargeable day should have been May 22 - our start date - and not the first day of the pay period which was May 12. We weren't even in town on the 12th. Anyway, we expect to get that fixed today.
As we are slowly adjusting to new procedures and policy, we are also beginning to get a feeling that the organization is not up to our previous experience, in terms of policies and employee friendliness. Once again, we'll see how it goes.
We work today and tomorrow before getting two days off. We had requested three days, but have had some employee issues (out of our control) that have forced the change in our schedule. It will, hopefully, be just a temporary interruption in our long term schedule...
