The pictures shown earlier of our site at least revealed some of the view of the mountains we have. This morning, you wouldn't know there are any mountains at all. In fact, we have not seen the top half of the mountains since we arrived. Oh, and it is 34 degrees outside. I don't believe we have gotten out of the 40's at all since we pulled in on Friday. It comes with the territory and probably still beats 100+ in AZ.
We took a nice drive through the Grand Teton National Park yesterday. Our first stop was at the Schwabacher Landing and we took these two shots:
It is still too early in the season to get the best shots.
We then drove to Jenny Lake and as we were leaving the Visitor Center there, we captured this fox walking away from us:
That was as close as we could get.
Then, we got our first look at some bison:
We then took a lunch break at Dornan's restaurant near the Park entrance which is where, as mentioned in several posts in the past, where Harrison Ford hangs out during the summer months. He wasn't there yesterday, but we had a nice time people watching and enjoying the sights:
It was on the way home from Dornan's that we saw a spectacular sight - a huge herd of elk heading for the hills:
There were at least 100 elk in that bunch.
Overall, it was a terrific day. One more day left before starting work tomorrow with an orientation in the AM and working at the Visitor Center in the afternoon...
