Nixed the Fence

The more I thought about taking the fence sections out to remove and re-park the fifth wheel each time we leave or return, I thought we should rethink the fence installation. The folks that have the fences on their sites are the ones that have their rigs permanently set up on the site. The thought of running over one of the post anchors that would be sticking up about 4" out of the ground and damaging a tire made the decision final. So, it was back to Lowe's again after Josie returned home from work to return the fence and get our credit. Maybe sometime down the road we can get a fence installed, as they do add something pleasing to the site. For now, the project to enhance our site is complete.

The next item was filling the propane tank for our cookout tonight. We found a convenient location close to Lowe's and when the store clerk came out to fill the tank he noticed it was an old tank. Sure, I bought this one in 1985 when we bought the lot at Outdoor Resorts in Palm Springs. The clerk said he couldn't fill the tank because it was older than 12 years. Really. I guess he could get into trouble by filling it if something went wrong with the old valve or something. Anyway, we looked in Costco and Sam's Club and found that they only sell the larger tanks the size that you take back and exchange for a full tank. First of all, I don't need or want a big tank as my 2.5 gallon tank is perfect for grilling and doesn't take up as much room while we travel. Plus, it's lighter. I will try to get the tank filled by the mobile propane guy on Saturday. He comes through every Tuesday and Saturday to fill tanks here at the Resort. In the meantime, I'll just use one of the fifth wheel tanks for our barbecue.

There was another windy morning yesterday as we had gusts up to 20 mph before 9 AM. We hope it all settles down today as the forecast is for 84 degrees, light winds and clear skies...
